May 14 - day 2 of Czech button and Bead Tour.

Woke up early and walked around town with Brian to buy some cream puff/chocolate pastries. They are handmade and fresh, and really fresh. Of the 4 pastry shops I know of in town, 3 were gone. We loaded up and took them back to the hotel for everyone to taste.

Then we hit a warehouse of new glass beads like o's, tri - beads, dragon scales, 2 holes of all shapes and colors, and many others,

before walking over to Palace Plus, a bead store in the same building. Found lots of good stuff.

They had a very nice selection of black jewelry. This was the jewelry that was made for Queen Victoria when she was in mourning when her husband, Prince Albert passed away.
(J-ME bought the bottom left hand one)

They also had many hand blown Christmas Ornaments in the shop.

Before we arrived there had just been a group of young children learning to do beadwork.

From there, we drove to Fipobex to check out their beads, then lunch at Club X. Naked ladies and mermaids were once again displayed on the walls. Yeah!

After lunch, a quick visit to a crystal glass etcher to look at and purchase some exquisite cut crystal vases and drinking glasses. Wow!

J-Me was lusting after this fabulous vase!

Last but not least; a visit to the famous museum of glass jewelry.

Lovely beaded light bulb covers! oh how we wish we could find some of these in a antique store somewhere…… maybe this year we will.

A necklace using sapherit glass- very nice!

Handblown glass beads - and lampwork faceted beads.

Very nice seed beaded vase full of seed beaded flowers.

Jet seed beads used to make this shield.

And for the button lovers…...

And then we have a few friends who just love buckles!!!

Very rare cloak clasps from the year 340 BC. Imagine being on a dig and finding one of these lovelies!!!

A fantastically beautiful extremely large vase. So one day, we could build a house around the vase…. yeah right.

a nice grandfather clock, crystal chandelier and a lovely cut glass mirror.

Modern art in another section of the museum.

The largest hollow beads we have ever seen. they must be about 11 inches across.

A very nice crystal beaded curtain……………... Victoria looking out over the hilltops of the beautiful fairyland in Czech Republic.

Back to the hotel and naps before dinner.
